Update:

DRAM: 4408L / 4408H (8k x 4)
ROM: RO-3-2513, MCM6670 / MCM6674 / SCM37530, 74186
EPROM: TMS2564
NOVRAM: X20C04, X20C05, X20C16, X20C17, X2210, X2212
added: 74H71, 7497, 118, 119, 222, 224, 227, 228, 286, 575, 673, 808, 810, 832, 900 (ALS), 902 (ALS), 903 (ALS), 9034, 9035, 9114 , 9115, 9134, 9135, 9240, 9244, 9245, 8T95, 8T96, 8T97, 8T98
4007, 40102, 40103, 4598, ULN2074, ULN282x, UDN6118, 75460, 75461, 75462, 75463, 75464, 75468, CA3081, CA3082
fixed: 74115, 173, 4055, 4056, 40105, 4514, 4515

I couldn't find a data sheet for the 4408. But it is a chip that was built into the Alice 90. Basically a broken 16k x 4. Unfortunately, I don't have a 4408 to test. But if someone should find a data sheet for it, always happy to get it ;)

Hello,

there is a new BETA firmware (v.17) available. It is a major update with new features and optimizations. The logic tests in particular have been greatly expanded and many tests have been checked with real chips.

I am also very happy that the community that uses the tester is growing all the time. At first there were mainly users from the home computer scene, but now more and more users from the pinball and arcade machine szene are using it. I think that the Tester is already well positioned here too :)

=== 1 ===

As in every firmware update, new memory chips have been implemented:

FIFO-RAMs:
- 40105
- 74222, 222, 224, 225, 227, 228, 229
- 74232, 233, 234, 235, 236
- 74413

Character ROMs:
- RO-3-2513
- MCM6670, MCM6674, SCM37530

NOVRAMs:
- X20C04
- X20C05
- X20C16
- X20C17
- X2210
- X2212

DRAMs:
- 4408NLT/4408NLB (8k x 4) (not tested yet, these RAMs were used in the Alice 90 and EXL-100)

ROMs:
- 74186

EPROMs:
- TMS2564

Some of these ICs, being quite exotic, are available as external definitions.

There were a couple of improvements:
- Pin 26 of the 2764 is permanently set to +5V when reading this IC. Normally this pin is "nc", but this change also allows that 2365 ROMs can be read (although this now corresponds to the setting "2364 (28)" where pin 26 is set to high in a pulsed manner).
- The number of slots for custom SRAMs has been increased to six.

=== 2 ===

Some (P)ROMs can now be dumped more easily. So far it has been possible to choose from several profiles how the different CE/CS signals should be treated. Now there is also an "Autodetection" which detects very reliably whether a signal has to be active high or low.

=== 3 ===

Lots of new logic chips have been added:

- 74H71, 7497, 118, 119, 222, 224, 227, 228, 286, 575, 673, 808, 810, 832, 900(ALS), 902(ALS), 903(ALS), 9034, 9035, 9114, 9115, 9134, 9135, 9240, 9244, 9245, 8T95, 8T96, 8T97, 8T98
- 4007, 40102, 40103, 4598, ULN2074, ULN282x, UDN6118, 75460, 75461, 75462, 75463, 75464, 75468, CA3081, CA3082

And a couple of logic chips have been corrected:

- 74115, 173, 4055, 4056, 40105, 4514, 4515

=== 4 ===

Following new Gerbers are available for download:
- Gerber for MM4204/MM5204-Adapter (beta testing)
- Gerber for 2513-Adapter, 5V/-5V/-12V-Version (beta testing)

Hello @slabbi

The thing was extremely useful for testing and dumping. Sadly it was bringer of sad news, such as that my PET 2001 has not enough working RAM ICs to operate... still I was surprised to find the CRC32 definition for some roms from the Alphatronic P2. Knowing they may be useful to you, I publish some CRC32 from roms found in localized versions of the computer.

"CAAP11 02 12"; Spanish Charset (original romset); 74318ECC
"CAJP03 01 23"; Italian Charset (original romset); F8920BD09
"CAAP06 00 19"; System ROM 0 (MOS); CB137796 <- This one was recognized! :D
"CAAP09 01 12"; System ROM 1 (Italian); 9BF19550
N/A; System ROM 2 (Italian); 8796D5DE (the sticker fell but I could try to locate it)

Regards,
Jaume

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I will add these ;)

I have this as "caap_96_00_5a/06_00_17" in the database. Is this correct? Or is it "19"?

The labels from the Italian unit are correct and match the references seen in the manual. They are, however, from non-German variations of the computer and for this reason they may not have the same markings than German computers have.
It is important for the CAJP03 01 23 and the CAAP 02 12 to emphatize where they come from, one of the system ROMs would also need the region to be specified in the description but at this time I don't know who is who and I'll need to check.

Jaume

Hello.

I want to update our (retrolab+Whatisaman) Chip Tester to the latest update but I never have made this process and I have some questions:

- Is necessary update to every version or only the newest?
- Is necessary set the fuses change process that is in the manual again or only run the updating firmware process?

Thank you very much

You use only the latest file (it is not an incremental update).
Fuses must not be set again, only flash the firmware.

Hello.

Is there a CGI version for avrdude?
Where I can find "AVRFuses (avrdude v6.3)" program that appears in the manual?
Thanks.
