Re: Chip Tester de 8bit-museum.de - Reloaded
The BOM is correct.
You found the BOM in the Dropbox using the link you got from me or in the manual.
Also all values are printed on the PCB and the values are correct.
Don't worry. I use older photos on and in the manual that is all.

If you operate the tester without a DC/DC module: The jumpers must be set. Both USB and barrel work.nandove escribió: ↑20 Sep 2020, 13:08 Ya he terminado de soldarlo a falta del dip 32p pero si he podido ncenderlo, de momento me fuciona alimentandolo por USB, con barrel jack no lo he conseguido, algo se me escapa, ya daré con el problema.

If you operate the tester with DC/DC module: No jumpers may be set. Both USB and barrel jack work.
Polarity of the barrel jack (middle = plus, outside = minus), 7-9V are ok.
When you want to use the barrel jack without DC/DC module the components in the "optional" area must be soldered.

Yes you're right! via Barrel Jack worksslabbi escribió: ↑20 Sep 2020, 13:23

I'm waiting for the 6-pin ISP programmer and the dip 32p.
Thanks you.

Re: Chip Tester de 8bit-museum.de - Reloaded
Hi Slabbi what is the better option for programing the Atmel via ISP??
Can I use an arduino Uno or Leonardo??
Another question about jumpers:
JP2 an JP3 must be selected when no barrel power (JP1 and JP4 opened)
If barrel selected we have JP2 and JP3 open ....right?
Thanks Slabbi

Re: Chip Tester de 8bit-museum.de - Reloaded
I am currently collecting feedback regarding programmers that are working with an ATmega2560:
Well-established programmers are:
• Diamex USB ISP-Programmer for AVR, STM32, LPC-Cortex (Prog-S2), approx. 20 Euro
• Diamex USB ISP-Programmer for Atmel AVR, approx. 18 Euro
• Tremex USB ISP-Programmer, approx. 20 Euro
• Pololu USB AVR Programmer, approx. 20 Euro
• Pololu USB AVR Programmer v2.1, approx. 12 Euro
• mySmartUSB MK2, approx. 30 Euro
• mySmartUSB MK3, approx. 40 Euro
• Atmel ICE, approx. 120 Euro
Feedback that there were problems or the programming did not work:
• USBASP (different Models), approx. 10 Euro
• Bus Pirate. approx. 25 Euro
It is not long, but I will add feedback.
Yes, you can use an Arduino for ISP programming. But it is slow, very slow. I have an tutorial in the manual (see appendix).
The jumpers are used when no DC/DC module is used. Then you set all jumpers. When you use the DC/DC module you remove all jumpers.
Or in other words (the jumpers are relevant when no module is used):
JP3 is GND and must be set when USB _and/or_ BJ are used without the module.
JP2 is USB and must be set when USB is used without the module.
JP1/JP4 is BJ and must be set when BJ is used without the module.

Un amigo que sabe un huevo, me ha indicado que si tienes un arduino, hay un sketch que transforma un arduino normal en un programador AVR:
https://www.arduino.cc/es/Tutorial/ArduinoISP
En mi caso, no tengo un arduino :/

When you have connected the Arduino: Do _not_ burn a bootloader, you do not need it.
Instead: programming is done with AVRDUDE. The avrisp is specified as the programmer:
avrdude.exe -C"avrdude.conf" -v -patmega2560 -cavrisp ...
and the ATmega2560 is programmed as described in section 4 of the manual.
